www.pokeroom.com – Every player develops their own style of play, and this will vary in how aggressive or patient it might be. This is of course flexible with many players, as it should be, because other outside aspects of the game can cause you to slow down or get busy.
PLAY NOW
These other aspects are namely, as follows. Blind increases firstly, can cause you to slow down a little bit if you have already accumulated enough chips to be comfortable. As can the approach of the bubble and subsequent money paying places. Your position on any given hand can also play a part in how aggressive or how passively you approach the hand, along with the chipstack size of the person to your left, if you are on the button or in the blinds. Other instances can cause you to up the tempo in the way you play hands too of course. Personally, if my stack takes a big hit on a full table, I should have a few hands before I am forced to act, but when I do, you can be sure I will be very aggressive. Often the necessity to act demands a very strong approach to a hand.
In answer to the question itself, there is a time and a place to be patient, and the same applies to aggressive play. Whichever way you approach your situation, you must be thinking clearly about what you feel that action will achieve and why. Overall I am prone to be more aggressive in my play, but I understand precisely what actions and reactions from my opponents play are cause for concern. You must have a clear picture of when to back off and when to press the issue with aggressive play.

www.bodogpoker.com – Many players who have ventured into an Omaha room online or elsewhere, will have a basic grasp of the game, and you might think that you would have enough knowledge of the game to play omaha hi/lo too. But if you have never tried the hi/lo variant, you could find it surprisingly confusing. There are key differences in this game which set it aside from regular Omaha, and these cause the powerful hands of the original game to change somewhat.
PLAY NOW
Generally speaking, you would feel that (A,A,2,3) in regular Omaha was a reasonable hand, especially if you are double suited, but in hi/lo, this becomes a very powerful hand indeed.
The object of Omaha hi/lo is to hopefully win with the lowest possible five card hand of unpaired cards, whilst winning the high hand which we are more accustomed too as well. There will be instances where there is no possibility of a low hand, and in this case, the high hand wins the whole pot. No matter how good your high hand is though, if there is a possibility of making a low hand, you are unlikely to win the entire pot if you have no low hand. This rule of the low hand winning half the pot is the reason (A,A,2,3) and similar hands are so valuable.
There are many combinations of cards which might hit the board to give you a wheel, and win you half the pot. The pair of aces and double suited nature of your hand also give excellent prospects for a high hand too. If your low hand ties with another players however, be careful, because they might win the high half of the pot, as well as taking half of your ‘low’ part of the pot. This is known as getting ‘quartered’.

www.pokerstars.com – With the growth of poker, there have been numerous new types of game which have developed in different parts of the world. I can of course, only speak for my own part of the world, but we have our odd poker games which we occasionally play, and these are quite unusual in their rules.
PLAY NOW
The first of these I will mention, is widely known as ‘Irish poker’. I do not not exactly how the game got it’s name, but the rules basically involve Texas holdem, but with three hole cards. the twist in the game is that once the flop has been dealt, each player gets to discard one of their three cards, and the game plays from there as normal. This means that stronger hands will be made, and there is more to interest players preflop, in the same way as Omaha, but the game still retains all it’s Texas Holdem qualities. Other games include one simply called ‘Seven Card’ This is similar to three card poker, except each player is dealt seven cards and must then discard one.
The resulting six cards must be used to make two seperate three card hands. You must beat each player with your best hand first, then the second best hands are shown and you must also win that to claim the pot. These interesting versions of well known games, are fun to involve in home games, but I cannot see them being involved in the WSOP tournament schedule any time soon.

www.pokeroom.com – It is very often the case, that when you are involved in a pot, you can work out whether you are ahead or behind in the hand and act accordingly. The trouble with draws however, is that you are in a position where you usually know you are behind, and know you will be in front if you make your hand.
PLAY NOW
This raises the question of whether you should be chasing these draws and how to play them if you are first to act.
If I am first to act with a big draw on the flop I always feel it best to be aggressive, because you would rather not be forced to hit your hand to win the pot, and if you do get called, then you have already built a good pot if your hand hits.
In terms of calling bets to try and hit a big hand, you must make an informed decision based on the size of the bet, the potential size of the pot, and of course the odds of you making your hand. I was recently raised a third of my short stack on a flop of (4d,10d,6h) whilst holding (7d,8d) in a tournament. I pushed all in over the top which I feel was the right play because I had 15 outs for a straight or flush, and two chances to hit one of them, but neither card fell.
I wouldn’t advise doing the same with only a straight or flush draw, but some players do. These decisions can often be pivotal to a tournament, and although the aim in poker is not to go all in when you are behind, sometimes there are just too many outs for you to get away from the hand.
When your draws are hitting in poker, you will find it difficult not to succeed I feel, but we would all prefer to turn over the best hand with all our chips in the middle when at all possible.

In terms of first time deposit bonuses on offer, bodogpoker.com offer a very competitive 110% on top of the initial depsoit made. Many sites offer 100%, so 110% is above the industry average. Reload bonuses are also available at Bodog at 100% which is another very generous potential bonus to be had. On top of these offers, are royal flush bonuses and bad beat bonus payments, which adds up to a very good set of prospects indeed for customers onsite.
PLAY NOW
Poker tips can be found at bodog poker.com also, helping newer poker players or those hoping to hone their skills, and giving students of the game a chance to take some expert advice on board.
The graphics at Bodog are quite crisp and function well, with the software seeming good enough, but on personal preference, I prefer to have tables with a visual background, and seats with players sat at them. But this takes nothing away from the fact that www.bodogpoker.com is a very enjoyable site to play on.
Their help and support options are good too, with help given through phone and email. I like to see live chat options available myself, but if the staff responding to your queries are knowledgable and quick to help as they seem to be at bodogpokercom, than that is more than sufficient for most players.
The game variety here is good too, with the usual three games of Holdem, Omaha, and Stud, supplemented by Five Card Draw also. Player traffic is very good here too with U.S players being accepted, and overall the site looks of a very high quality indeed.

The pledge of Full tilt Poker to it’s players is that it will always strive to improve as a site, creating more opportunities for players to better their game. Also, they pledge to ensure at all times and at all levels, to create a secure place to play poker for their customers.
PLAY NOW
There are several ways that Full Tilt poker go about fulfilling this pledge. First of all, they have a team of professionals on board that include some of the best players in the game. These players can help Full Tilt to understand exactly what it is that makes the serious poker players keep playing and continually improving their game. Also they know what would make them feel comfortable in terms of financial security and safety onsite too.
Full Tilt also has a poker forum online which is a great way of obtaining feedback from customers. With this type of communication between players and the site being available, Full Tilt can get a clear idea of what the majority of customers are pleased with, and what they would like to see in terms of changes. I would also imagine that the site listens closely to it’s help and support personel to establish where there might be any problems related to security or anything else, and look to solve any recurring problems immediately. That said, my understanding is that Full Tilt experience little or no recurring problems in this regard and continue to excel in every area. This should ensure that they retain their status as one of the finest online poker rooms around.

bodogpoker.com – If you play poker for long enough, you are bound to eventually find yourself with the most powerful hand in the game. The Royal Flush is a very rare thing in poker, and I can only recall having this hand perhaps four times in seven years of playing the game. On two of those occasions I made virtually nothing in terms of money or chips from the hand, the problem being that in Holdem, if you have a royal flush, you always have board cards which look extremely dangerous.
PLAY NOW
Aside from Royal Flushes, I have made several straight flushes over the years, and although they also involve some dangerous board cards being on the table, your opponent can still make a nut flush, top two pair, or top set, and pay you off well.
When we talk about the ‘best’ hand we have had in poker though, it is not always the highest possible hand. Hands can stand out for different reasons, such as making great folds, or eliminating players. There was one hand a few months ago online, where after moving all in I was called by four other players. I had (A,K) suited and my opponents had (A,Q) (7,7) (K,K) and (J,J). I made a flush on the river and eliminated all of them, which was memorable in it’s own way. The final hand of my first ever live tournament win was with (A,5) of hearts, and that particular hand will always be a special one for that reason.
The more we play poker of course, the more we will find ourselves in situations and hands that will stick with us for a long time. That is part of the reason myself and many others play the game, because you simply never know when the next memorable hand will be, whether it is memorable for the right reasons, or the wrong ones.

Basically, I feel that play money games have a limited amount of experience to give to a player wishing to learn the game. I can definately agree that if you are very unsure of starting hands and how the blinds are placed, then ‘Play Money’ tournaments will teach you the basic things you need to know.
To Play Poker at www.pokeroom.com CLICK HERE
There comes a point in every players learning curve though, when playing only play money tournaments will be harmful to your play. this is because ‘Play Money’ games generally, do not play out in the same way as real games do. When players are risking monopoly money which is worthless, they will be loose and reckless in their play and will not be able to be bluffed, for the most part. If you get used to playing in this sort of game then you will lose sight of the true nature of the game, and also how it is played when people have real money on the line. The importance players attach to the game comes mostly from what is at stake, and this is why you will learn far more by playing real money games.
This does not mean that nothing can be learnt at ‘Play Money’ games, but be aware that what you learn will be limited.
You should not be afraid to step up to real money games once you have mastered the basics of the game, as there will not be large amounts of money involved unless you want there to be. Almost every site offers games with blinds as small as two and four cents, so you needn’t be worried about losing lots of money.

The first point to make about Bodog is that their first time deposit bonus is a good offer at 110%. Also they are commited to holding large amounts of good value tournaments each month. These tournaments are as follows: Every Sunday Bodog hold a 100k gauranteed tournament, and entry for this tournament can be won through satellites to set up a great win if your luck holds out in the main tournament.
To Play Poker at bodgopokercom CLICK HERE
Also running are ‘players choice’ tournaments. These are run as satellites towards a greater prize of a seat at a major live tournament of your choice. This is good because different players can go with whichever tournament means most to them.
Bodog is also running qualifiers to it’s own open tournament at the moment with seats available to a tournament with an excellent prize pool. Any player who has the talent to reach this open through qualifiers should surely fancy their chances of cashing in the event too.
On top of these offers, Bodog also allows it’s players to turn their player points into cash which gives players who accumulate numerous points the chance to boost their bankroll if their funds get low.
the many gauranteed tournaments on offer at Bodog are certainly a positive thing, and with reload bonuses, a good first time deposit bonus, and many other offers each month, Bodog is really staking a claim to be amongst the biggest online operators in the business. Although not amongst my personal favourites, I wouldn’t discourage anyone from checking out Bodog Poker as they have much to offer.

Recent new promotions at Full Tilt for this month include a ‘hunt for happy hour’ promotion, giving players the chance to pick up points at three times their regular rate.

For all players saving up for that piece of merchandise or trying to hit a points target, this is an excellent opportunity and should get players sat at tables and getting down to some serious poker. Also at Full Tilt currently, are the much loved large scale guaranteed tournaments, giving the chance of a dream windfall win for those players who attain a seat.
One of the biggest of this type of tournament is a monthly $1,000,000 tournament. This prize pool is outrageously large and should capture the imagination of any player wishing to win big at a poker table.
If you are a player at Full Tilt, you will also know of the bounties offered for knocking one of their professional team out of tournaments. Not only is this the chance to tick a ‘lifes ambitions’ box, but you even get paid for it.
For all those players out there who enjoy watching the best pros at work, there has been a huge online PLO tournament held at Full Tilt during the early part of September with a 25K buy in. This event is not a one off however, so if you miss this chance to see the pros doing battle, there will always be another. I personally like this type of event, because it is a great experience for aspiring players to watch the worlds best at work, and an inspiration to those who love the game.
Overall, Full Tilt remains one of the best online sites around and as ever, continues to offer new promotions and comes up with great ideas each month. So if you haven’t had the privilege of playing at Full Tilt yet, feel free to take a look.
